Dog Training

Our Training Explained…

All of us have a picture in our heads of how are dogs were “supposed” to be when we brought them into our lives and unfortunately, sometimes that picture is far from the reality we live every day. Maybe they are leash reactive, jump on guests, counter surf, suffer from selective listening, have poor social skills (dog aggressive), are rude, pushy and lack basic obedience to name a few. Trust me, I have owned that dog and I can completely relate. “That dog” is the reason I started training dogs in the first place!

Many of the dog behavior issues I work with are a symptom of a greater problem (fear, anxiety, insecurity, lack of rules and consistency) and my balanced training approach gets to the root of the problem by moving the dogs state of mind from the chaotic end of the spectrum to the calm side of life. It’s amazing how many undesired behaviors can be solved with a different perspective and a fresh approach!

I work diligently to teach both the dog and human a humane and effective way to communicate using tools (slip lead, prong collar and remote collars) as well as body language, praise and reinforcement for good behavior. I am passionate about helping those humans who are willing to make a lifestyle change for themselves and their dog and committed to helping their dog be the best they can be by creating a calm dynamic between them! I work with all breeds, ages and issues and have a special interest in fearful dogs.

Walk This Way (at my facility) Includes Herm Sprenger Prong Collar $280

If your dog is an unfocused mess and you are tired of your dog pulling you on your walk, reacting to other dogs, people or anything on wheels, I can help! A calm and structured walk is the foundation of a strong relationship with your dog and is not something you should dread every day.  Meeting their needs both physically and mentally is our duty as a dog owner and should be something you both can enjoy! Structured walks change the way your dog sees you and can be a game changer for your relationship. The first session (1.5 hours) covers the basics: How to use a prong collar safely, setting the tone of the walk,  learning how to communicate and guide your dog using the pressure and release conversation and how to handle real life situations you may face. The second session (1 hour) will be one to two weeks later when you have had ample time to master your leash handling skills and we will polish your new walk and address any issues or questions you may have.

One on One Program (at my facility) Includes Herm Sprenger Prong Collar $750

First session: 2 hours

Second session: 2 hours

Third Session: 2 hours

Many people who utilize this program have a dog that has general behavioral issues (no human or major dog aggression). I will teach Sit, Down, Place (off switch) and Come (recall) commands, as well as waiting at thresholds (including crate) and leash manners on the structured walk. More than that, I will empower you with rules, structure and boundaries to help strengthen you and your dog’s relationship and up your leadership game. This is a fantastic program for dog owners who are committed to seeing results!

If you have another dog in need of training, you can add them to the group for an additional $250 (includes extra Herm Sprenger prong collar).

**Ecollar training is available over two installments of 1 hour training sessions for an extra $410 (including Ecollar Technologies). Ecollar training is an extremely useful and potent form of training to instill good behaviors.

Just see what was possible with Ecollar training with Hope.

Board and Train

I do offer both two and three week board and train packages, as well as day training for certain behavioral issues, but those packages are determined on a case by case basis and space available at my facility. Please fill out the contact form and I will determine which program would be the best fit for your dog. (All dogs in the board and train program will be trained using ECollar Technologies remote collar *additional $160 for ecollar *)
